To the Maternity Nurses at Saint Joseph - London
“My wife recently delivered our son at Saint Joseph - London and just wanted to let the hospital administration know they have an excellent OB department. The nurses and all the aides were excellent. I don't remember all the nurses' names while we were there, except for Tammy Flannery and Causetta. You should be extremely proud of them. They are top notch. Every need we had was met and very fast. I work at another facility in the area and your OB department is second to none. They were very busy the evening we were admitted, but they met our every need. They should be commended. Just wanted to let them know they are the best!” |

Saint Joseph – Berea Awards 'Heart of Saint Joseph' to Betty Durham
Betty Durham was surprised at a recent Daily Line-Up meeting with the presentation of the Heart of Saint Joseph Award. Betty, who works in nursing administration at Saint Joseph - Berea, is pictured above with VP of Patient Care/Chief Nursing Officer Pat Patton (left) and President Greg Gerard (right). Betty was nominated by her “sister” Mary Durham of Hospitality Services. Mary wrote that Betty personifies our CORE Values in the following ways: REVERENCE: Betty has worked with this hospital for 20 years. She has special relationships with many of us. She reflects a positive attitude in her job and the people she works with. INTEGRITY: Betty works hard at her job because she wants the best for this hospital. Betty will help others with special projects in nursing and other departments when needed and never complain about it. COMPASSION: I have worked with Betty on many projects. She pays attention to every little detail. She wants everyone to feel special. Betty has a great family but I know she thinks of the hospital employees as her family, also. EXCELLENCE: Betty has her own private library that she shares with others. Betty will help other employees get help when needed. She is just a great person all around and I’m proud to call her “Sis.” Photo below: Dr. David Greene and Betty Durham

Community Health Fair in Jessamine The Saint Joseph - Jessamine RJ Corman Ambulatory Care Center (SJJ) partnered with Jessamine Christian Church to host a free community health fair on Saturday, May 30. The fair offered health screenings and educational resources, and medical professionals spoke on various healthy living topics. Local EMS brought the Fire Safety House and performed car seat safety checks. In between awareness opportunities, parents let their children bounce on the “moonwalk” and enjoy snow cones, cotton candy and face painting. All events occurred on the SJJ campus in Nicholasville.
Aside from car seat safety checks and teaching about fire safety, local EMS gave out balloons, snow cones and cotton candy. They also held drawings for life jackets, bicycles and scooters.
Saint Joseph - Jessamine patient access employee Jaime Caudill showed her girls the inside of a fire truck.
Local EMS also helped out with face painting.
