KODA
Facts New Focus to Organ Donation KODA Volunteer
Opportunities
KODA is the federally designated organ procurement organization that serves most
of the state of Kentucky, four counties in Southern Indiana and two counties in
Western West Virginia. A nonprofit organization founded in 1987, KODA provides
the option of organ and tissue donation to families who have lost a loved one.
Donation is an opportunity to help others in need and often provides solace to
these families. KODA is the link between the hospitals where donation may occur
and all of the transplant centers in the United States.
As Nursing Professionals we all
have been or will be touched by the issue of organ donation and all
that this implies. We as the Website team intend this link to provide information useful both personally and professionally
as one considers all aspects of this important topic.
